This is a traditional art form where real gold work is done on hand crafted marble articles. Here, first, the marble is chiseled/turned to the required shape and size on which the gold work is to be done. The motifs are drawn on the articles and then these designs are given an embossed look by a paste made up of lacquer and other ingredients, layer by layer. Then this is left to dry. After drying, gold work is done on it by thin gold foil/paint and then lacquered on top to protect the gold work from scratches etc. |
